Standard for Calculating the Rental Area of Buildings (RA-GIF) 2024

The Standard for Calculating the Rental Area of Buildings (RA-GIF) updates the gif Standard for Calculating the Rental Area of Commercial Space, which has become the market standard for renting in the real estate industry. It facilitates area calculations for all kinds of use, both for commercial buildings (e.g. office, hotel, trade, logistics, etc.) and mixed-use buildings, and can also be used for residential buildings, although the German Residential Space Ordinance has established itself as the standard on the market for the renting of residential property. The RA-GIF Standard makes it possible to calculate the area consistently by creating portions of a building. The RA-GIF Standard is not a law or a legislation and only becomes binding when its application is agreed. It should only be used as a complete document.
