Shopping centers remain a key asset class in the retail sector, but are coming under increasing pressure from e-commerce, new retail concepts, and changing customer needs. Against this backdrop, gif Gesellschaft für Immobilienwirtschaftliche Forschung e.V. (Society of Property Researchers), together with the German Council of Shopping Places (GCSP) and in cooperation with the EHI Retail Institute, the German Retail Association (HDE) and the German Property Federation (ZIA), has conducted a comprehensive research study on the performance measurement of shopping centers in Germany based on 14 centers.
